Jump Kicks #3

Tobi Ushiro Geri
(Jump Back Kick)
This is another Tobi Geri to execute in Jissen Kumite.
This is an example of a natural combination that incorporates a jump kick and puts your opponent behind your timing.

1. With your Kamae, the most important thing is to be relaxed and not stiff. If you are tense and over-eager to kick, your opponent will be able to read you easily. 1、 構えに硬さをとる。ここが飛び蹴りの大切なポイントである。構えに硬さが出ると相手に読まれやすい。

2. Slide in quickly and execute a lead hand Seiken to get ahead of the timing. 2、構えを変えず、鋭く先の呼吸で間合を詰めながら左の正拳を繰り出す。

4. Immediately follow up with a sharp Tobi Ushiro Geri while you are still ahead of the timing. 4、 この拍子から鋭いとび後ろ蹴り。

KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER:
Whenever you jump, you need to squeeze your thighs together so that the kick goes straight (Kyoten Book Vol. II, pg. 19). After Tobi Ushiro Geri, follow up with one more technique.
